Rosemarie Libera

  • Founder and Artistic Director of Company 'N Tempo Theatre & Dance.

Her personal philosophy is:

  • To promote the participation in and the appreciation of the performing arts.
  • To promote self expression, self esteem, and technical excellence in students of dance, theatre, movement and sport.
  • To promote health and fitness through movement.

RoseMarie holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from Central Connecticut State University and a Master's Degree in Physical Education from CCSU.  

Her Teaching experience is diverse and includes:

 

CURRENTLY:
  • ECSU Faculty teaches Dance History for the fine Arts Department.
  • CCSU adjunct faculty has taught Movement Fundamentals and Arts Integration for Elementary School Educators.
  • Dance Faculty at Wesleyan University for CCY summer Intensive.
  • Conducts Seminars and Sessions for Educators in Dance Education for such state organizations as CREC, CTAHPERD and YMCA programs.
  • Serving on the State Task Force for CT Dance Teacher Certification.

PAST:

  • Cromwell High School English Instructor
  • Choreographer of High School Musicals
  • Assistant Track and Field Coach, Dance Instructor for girls P.E.
  • Teaching Movement Fundamentals at CCSU.

RoseMarie has studied dance since 1968 and continues to hone her skills by attending Master Classes in Connecticut, Boston, and New York.

RoseMarie's duties at Company 'N Tempo include

  • hiring and managing instructors
  • finding and hiring guest instructors
  • teaching various classes (Inro. to Dance, Jazz, Swing, and Ballroom dance classes, and Theatre)
  • and last but not least she writes and directs two musical productions a year for our student body of about 120 students.

RoseMarie has

  • choreographed many Musicals for various Connecticut High Schools including Nun-Sense II, Bye Bye Birdie, The Boyfriend, Grease, and Disco Fever.
  • choreographed many Community Theatre Productions including Music Man, and Once Upon A Mattress.
  • Produced and choreographed many Cabaret Evenings (ie: dinner, social dancing, entertainment- singers, dancers, orchestra) at the Avon Old Farms Inn and the Simsbury Inn.
  • Choreographed the USO Hollywood Canteen Reenactment Tour with performances at:
    Warner Theatre in Torrington, CT,
    Symphony Hall in Springfield, MA,
    The Bushnell in Hartford, CT,
    The National Guard Banquet in Windsor, CT
    La Renissance Dinner Theatre in Windsor, CT.
  • Hosted "Swinging at the Savoy" with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, in December 1999 at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, CT.
  • Since 1997 has been the Entertainment Coordinator for the Cromwell Riverport Fall Festival.
